During the creative research on Tuesday 15th April, I had to talk about my interest that could be related to my course and my project idea for this unit.

As I have mentioned on the previous post, I'm thinking about the situation as,

" What if another ice age comes to the world on 21st century? " ,

" If I were a character who is living in the ice age, what I would do? "

I tend to concentrate on character design including their personality and environment, but it would be necessary to research the social change that is brought by ice age. Also, the tutor said to me that I will need to research the image of frost city and movies related to the ice age like "The Day After Tomorrow" .

Essential : <How to See the World>, Nicholas Mirzoeff

It was essential to read 1-10 pages of <How to See the World> for creative research and I had to discuss in my first session.

In the introductory video for Creative Research, tutor Richard asked for thinking about:

  1. The different types of research that would have been necessary in order to write this section (-> what did the author have to look for?)

  2. How does the writer connect it all into a story?

  3. What is Mirzoeff trying to say with all this?

To answer these questions above, he used the scientific and social sources to be good examples and evidence of his arguments as well. Also, he explained the perspective of people about "Blue Marble" in order to make the reader understand easily what he want to say to the readers.

Ultimately, the author of this book is trying to say about Visual Culture with all of them what he mentioned. According to that he said in 10th page, a visual culture means not only what to be seen like painting and films. Basically, it means the relationship between what we see and the names we give to it.
