 <Saturn Devouring His Son> is a painting by Spanish artist Francisco Goya (1746-1828) . It has been considered delineation about the myth of Titan Cronus who is also called as Saturn in Roman. He is eating one of his children due to the awe about Gaea' s prediction that he will be deprived of power by his children.


There are various interpretations of this painting, as it is a painting painted by Francisco Goya on his wall in his later years and gives a strong impression. This painting has been interpreted as the conflicts between youth and eld, anger of gods, the time as the providence of all things, and Spain's situation with war and revolution.

I would use <Saturn : Devouring His Son> as the picture in the right frame of the fireplace because it demonstrates intuitively about the fear of human for the monsters eating humans. Then, otherwise, I would use other painting as the picture in the left frame of the fireplace. It shows a human being consuming other animals as meat with very contrasting atmosphere with <Saturn: Devouring His Son> of Francisco Goya.
