Unit04_Clarifying Ideas Together

For making animation, first of all, I need to clarify the story ideas based on log-line that I learned from the briefing. And there is the structure of log line as setting, protagonist, problem, antagonist, goal, and conflict or action.

Log- line ( = Summary of Synopsis)

• Setting : New Ice Age on 21st century, post-apocalypse

• Protagonist : Girl who is living in an apartment

• Problem : She lost contact with her only friend

• Antagonist : The debris of buildings outside, snowstorm

• Conflict / Action : Braves a snowstorm after going outside

• Goal : Go to her friend and save him from snowstorm will come as soon

= > "The story of a girl who braves a snowstorm to find her only friend in a world cut off from communication during the 21st century ice age."

Treatment ( Initial )

Due to climate change, another ice age comes to the world on 21st century. And the survived people have to rely on wireless set and recorder to communicate with others. Fortunately, the girl who survived in the apartment that did not collapse coincidentally began to communicate with someone through her computer.

They enjoy having small talk and playing music with their guitars, but at some point, all news about him stopped.

So, she decided to go to find him with braving a snowstorm and the debris of buildings collapsed.

Braving the cold, she arrived at the location she had found using a location tracker, but the house he was living in was already empty and covered with heavy snow, and there was a cassette tape on the desk.

Then, she goes back to her house while listening the music of the cassette tape with her cassette tape player. As she does, the screen gradually darkens and the ending credits appear.

Decide Together ( 16th April )

On 16th April, we had decided to share the stories we each created, read them, and then vote after lunch break time to decide which story to make into an animation. And there was a rule not to vote for her/his own story to be fair. And then, 3 of my team members voted for my story idea.

After choosing the story for making animation, we have made the share documents in google to have simple discussion and write scripts as the sample scripts on the last unit.
