  • Exporting the Animation in Maya to the Unreal Engine



To output the modeling and animation created by Maya to the Unreal Engine, select both the corresponding skeleton and skin with Game Export, check Smoothing Groups, Tangents & Binormals, Skinning, and Blend shapes in the Geometry list, check the Settings list with Animation and Embedded Media, set the FBX format to the 2018 version, and output it in an easy-to-enter path by the Unreal Engine. The Unreal Engine then downloads the demo version of the file, adds a new folder in the content drawer at the bottom left, and imports the fbx-type file I printed from Maya into the newly added folder, creating skeleton, animation, and materials for each part in the folder.
